| Thanks for exploring West Cape House. West Cape House is a fully equipped, 1830 Victorian farmhouse, one mile, (1.5 km), from the shore. Mature trees surround it, offering privacy amid idyllic views of rolling countryside. The nearest neighbour is about 1/8 mile away. It is very private but not isolated, 1.7 acres with woods,apple orchard, lawn. 1 mile from the shore. The sea air is simply divine. The water supply is from a very deep well, and I believe there's none better on this planet! And is it quiet! It is an experienced Island farmhouse, and we think it offers a taste of traditional living in PEI. Because the house is surrounded by mature trees on 2-1/2 acres, there are a lot of birds, and the days are full of birdsong! Pets are not allowed due to other guests' allergies. There is excellent swimming in the warm waters of the Northumberland Strait at Cedar Dunes Provincial Park, (3 km), with a sandy beach, change facilities, bathroom, showers, BBQ shelters. • Golf, tennis and a fun park at Mill River Resort, (20 km). • Golf at St. Felix Golf & Country Club, (40 km).. • West Point Lighthouse Museum and Restaurant (3 km) • Fishing, riding (1.5 km) • North Cape wind power centre (30 km). The house is fully equipped with everything we would want in a vacation home. It sleeps seven comfortably. It has two queen bedrooms, one single bedroom, a queen sofa-bed in the living room, a couch in the solarium, and a cot and high chair for baby. There's an interesting library, dishwasher, washer/dryer, radio/CD/cassette player, TV/DVD, outdoor shower (as well as indoor bathroom with bath and shower), barbecue, deck, Adirondack chairs, lots of dishes & cutlery, good knives, wine glasses, loaded spice rack, coffee maker, espresso maker (Puppieni). There is telephone access for local calls. Long distance is available, by either collect call or calling card. There is no air conditioning. It is not needed. The nights are cool, and being an 1830 farmhouse, it stays cool in the daytime. June and September are also good on the Island, June displaying wonderful pink and green landscapes, and September's hard, rich light on the harvested fields and cliffs. The swimming and beaching are best in July and August.
